Sorry for these being a little late...Practice Problems

I'm giving the answers below with the questions. I strongly suggest you work the questions before you glance at the answers. The reason being that if you can write out each problem using the GUESS method and derive the equations, you will get the answer right.

  1. A 40 kg deer accelerates from rest to a speed of 5 m/s in 1.5 seconds. What was the force needed to provide that acceleration?
  2. A .5 kg ball accelerates downward at a constant rate of 9.8 m/s/s. What is the force on the ball?
  3. A motorcycle uses 300 N to accelerate at a rate of 2.5 m/s/s. What is the mass of the motorcycle?
  4. A baseball bat with a mass of 2.5 kg is swung with a force of 45 N. What was its rate of acceleration?
